Lent is approaching so you may be receiving more frequent notices of Our Lady of Refuge activites.
There will be a meeting after Mass on Sunday February 7, 2010, to discuss various matters. Please try to stay for the meeting because your participation is welcome and needed!
The annual St. Patrick’s Day Potluck and Bingo has been tentatively set for Saturday, March 13. We will discuss this at the meeting.
During Lent we are planning to “give up” the usual “goodies” served after Mass and substitute soup. This is symbolic of course, because the soups are always delicious. You are being asked to not only give up the “goodies’ but also donate a little cash that will be used to feed the poor.
Already signed up to bring soup are:
- February 25: Mansfields
- February 28: Liz
- March 7: Mary
- March 14: Cathy
If you feel called to make a big pot of soup to be served after Mass, March 21 and 28 are still open! Sign up on the calendar just inside the main church door.
You can also help out by bringing bread to go along with the soup on these Sundays. Sign up for this on the calendar also, so that we know someone is bringing it.
