Coming up
As most of you know, our pastor, Father Domingo Orimaco, is leaving for a new position as pastor of Our Lady of Mercy in Daly City. He will be starting in his new parish on July 1. There are several events in the works to bid him farewell.
June 6 2010 we plan to have a light lunch after our regular 10:45 Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Refuge, in order to give our church members an opportunity to congratulate Father Doming, say good-bye and wish him well. If you would like to bring a food item to share you might contact Catherine Staal to find out what might be needed.
June 19, 2010 Our Lady of Pillar is hosting a potluck to wish a farewell to Father Doming and a welcome to Father Gabriel Flores, who will be our new pastor. This will be held at the Bell Building, next to Our Lady of the Pillar in Half Moon Bay, from 6 to 10 PM. They are assembling a photo album and will have a gift table for Father Doming. Contact the OLP office for information if you didn’t get the handout a few Sundays ago.
Faith, Fellowship and God’s Word On the second and fourth Saturdays every month come to the OLP Rectory Conference Room to meet with others and discuss the readings for Sunday Mass, their context and how they might apply to our own lives. This is a great way to meet other parishioners. Half Moon Bay is a distance to drive, so the Adult Faith Formation director has said that he would be willing to come to La Honda one Saturday a month to meet with us if there was enough interest. Talk to Mary if you might want to do this. This is not RCIA but a way for pracrticing Catholics to deepen their faith.
That’s all for this newsletter…
